The Board of Directors at its August meeting
endorsed Prop 1C: The Housing and Emergency Shelter Trust Fund Act of 2006. The
proposition will provide a 2.85 Billion Dollar General Obligation Bond,
including 50 million dollars for the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP)
which provides support for emergency shelters for those most in need. The Proposition also provides badly
needed resources for rental assistance, homeownership programs, farm workers
housing, and affordable housing innovation.
The need for affordable housing
solutions and emergency shelters remain at the heart of the housing crisis many
lower income people face in San Francisco and the
